On Thursday, March 25th, SRS students of all ages went up against a panel of
experts to see who could answer the most Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Math questions correctly.

Approximately 40 students participated in the challenge against an expert
panel consisting of an astronomer, structural engineer, statistician,
physicist, medical examiner, lego enthusiast, and chemists.  SRS students
demonstrated strong knowledge in the S.T.E.M. areas, blowing the expert
panel away by reciting over 25 digits in the mathematical “pi” symbol!  The
students maintained an impressive tie score throughout most of the
challenge; however, a correct response to the final question by the expert
panel wrapped up the final score with the expert panel winning by just one
point!

More SRS students and parents will be needed next spring to continue the
S.T.E.M. Challenge, so if you missed it this year, plan on coming next year!
It will be the Thursday evening of the P-T spring conferences.  The students
can be dropped off at the STEM Challenge while parents are in conferences.
