General Safety and Health
Nemours Foundation’s kidshealth.org site offers safety and health resources for parents, kids and teens. Your kids might want to check out http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/watch to learn how to be safe at school and play.
American Academy of Pediatrics (www.aap.org) Parenting Corner has safety and health information for you and your family.
Kids.gov (www.kids.gov), the official Kids’ portal for the U.S. Government has a page of safety links.
Safe Kids USA (usa.safekids.org) has safety tips and a Safety Links Page of web sites covering a broad range of children safety topics.
Safety at Home
Home Safety Council (www.homesafetycouncil.org) is a good resource for home safety tips, checklists and information about home fire safety, falls prevention, poison prevention, water safety, and child safety.
U.S. Consumer Product Safety Protection Commission (www.cpsc.gov) offers product recall information.
Safety on the Road
Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (www.nhtsa.dot.gov) has information about child passenger safety, pedestrian safety , bicycle safety, and bus and vehicle recalls.
Pennsylvania State Police (www.psp.state.pa.us) has information about child seat safety and inspections.
Bicycle Helmet Safety Institute (www.bhsi.org) provides a wealth of information on buying, fitting and proper wear of bicycle helmets.
Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center has a site (www.bicyclinginfo.org) for bicycling safety. They also offer links to a couple of other affiliated sites on safe walking routes to schools.
Safety in the Community
National Crime Prevention Council (www.ncpc.org) offers information to help you protect yourself, your family and our community safe from crime. McGruff.org (www.mcgruff.org) is their site for kids.
FBI Kids Page provides kids and parents with tips for staying safe in the community.
PA Megan’s Law website (www.pameganslaw.state.pa.us) is a registry of certain sex offenders maintained by Pennsylvania State Police. Please read the advisory posted at the bottom of the page.
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (www.missingkids.com) offers resources for keeping your child safe in the community and online. Many of their publications and pamphlets are available for download.
Family Watch Dog (www.familywatchdog.us) maps registered sex offenders in your area.

Enough Is Enough (www.enough.org) offers Rules ‘n Tools Guidelines for Internet Safety.
Common Sense Media (www.commonsensemedia.org) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that provides parents with trustworthy information and reviews to help manage their kids’ media lives.
OnGuardOnline.gov provides practical tips from the federal government and the technology industry to help you be on guard against Internet fraud, secure your computer, and protect your personal information.
